Jana Aguel DVM MANZCVS (EqD) IAED certified For Dr. Jana Aguel, equine veterinary medicine is more than a profession—it has been a lifelong passion. Growing up on a ranch in northern Arizona, she developed an early appreciation for the partnership between horses and the people who care for them. Dr. Aguel is an avid equestrian who has completes in many disciplines. That passion evolved into a career dedicated exclusively to equine medicine. Before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Aguel established herself in the field of equine dentistry, gaining years of practical experience before pursuing advanced veterinary training. After attaining a veterinary degree, Dr. Aguel dedicated herself to advanced training at the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in equine dentistry. This unique foundation allows her to approach each case with an exceptional understanding of equine oral anatomy, biomechanics, and overall performance. Today, her practice combines advanced dentistry, oral surgery, sports medicine, diagnostic imaging, and preventive care to provide comprehensive solutions for horses ranging from elite performance athletes to cherished companions. Dr. Aguel believes the best veterinary medicine is built on education, communication, and collaboration. Every recommendation is based on current evidence, clinical experience, and the individual needs of each horse and owner.

Alyssa Carbo DVM Dr. Alyssa Carbo is excited to join the equine community at Perfect Balance Equine Veterinary Services and begin her career providing compassionate, practical care for horses and their owners. She earned her veterinary degree from St. George’s University and completed her clinical year at Kansas State University. Her professional interests include ambulatory medicine, dentistry, lameness evaluation, and preventative care, with plans to continue expanding her skills in reproductive medicine. Dr. Carbo is passionate about supporting the long-term health, comfort, and performance of every horse she treats, from family companions to performance athletes.
